Since 1973

The Southern California Aerospace Professional Representatives (SCAPR) organization began to emerge in late 1973 with the objectives of establishing a forum and environment for the presentation of information on government space programs that is helpful to our members and our members to have the opportunity to network easily with other business development professionals for business purposes.

Our History

SCAPR represented a “rebirth” from a previously existing LA Reps organization that had functioned with sporadic success since the Air Force Western Development Command was established on Arbor Vitae Boulevard in Los Angeles to start the United States intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) and space programs in the mid-1950s.

Our Leadership

The SCAPR Executive Committee is a volunteer group composed of active members of SCAPR. Committee members self-nominate to annually open positions and are elected by the membership. Typically, at the end of each year, the current President becomes Special Advisor and each member is rotated to the next position, resulting in an open Activities chair. In the case of resignations from the Executive Committee, following year assignments will be designated by the incoming President and elections will be held for the remaining positions.
