In this role he supports AATS’s leader in the acquisition\, integration\, operation and sustainment of the $13.5B National Security Space Launch Program\, Rocket System Launch Program and other emerging Space Mobility and Logistics mission areas. Assured Access to Space delivers launch services and on-orbit capabilities for the USSF and Intelligence Community\, leveraging commercial and government space industry partners to develop\, produce\, and operate launch systems\, as well as sustainment and modernization of the Eastern and Western Launch Ranges. John is also a certified National Security Space Launch Mission Director. John has over 35 years of experience in launch vehicle system program management\, design\, development\, procurement\, integration\, operations\, sales\, and acquisition. \nPrior to assuming his current role\, John spent 10 years with Northrop Grumman Corporation and its affiliated entities. As Director of Space Launch Business Development for the Launch Vehicles Business Unit he led and coordinated business development actives for the Pegasus\, Minotaur\, Antares and proposed Omega launch systems\, interfacing with both government and commercial customers. Prior to this\, as Senior Systems Engineering Manager\, John supported the development\, sales\, and successful operation of the Antares launch system for the International Space Station Commercial Cargo Resupply Services program\, and served as Integrated Product Team Lead for the Antares RD-181 main engine procurement from N.P.O. Energomash. \nPreceding this\, John was with Boeing and the former McDonnell Douglas companies for 22 years\, supporting development\, procurement and operations of multiple expendable launch systems including Titan IV\, Delta II\, III & IV\, Japanese H-IIA\, and Sea Launch. John held positions of increasing responsibility in Engineering\, Procurement\, and Program Management including: \n\nMajor Supplier Program Manager in Nagoya Japan leading a cooperative propellant tank development program between Boeing and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries\nMajor Supplier Program Manager for Delta II\, III and IV Propulsion\nChief of Staff supporting the Vice President and General Manager of Boeing Expendable Launch Systems.\nDirector of Mission Integration for Sea Launch LLC\, leading the integration of over 30 satellites manifested on Sea Launch and Land Launch vehicles\, and supporting Sea Launch and Land Launch campaigns as certified Chief Systems Engineer and Assistant Mission Director.\n\nJohn has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from U. Bogstie is the Senior Materiel Leader for the Resilient Missile Warning\, Tracking\, and Defense Acquisition Delta at Space Systems Command\, Los Angeles Air Force Base\, California. Her responsibilities include managing the new $2B MEO Missile Track constellation and the integration of the system into the overall Missile Warning architecture\, rapidly responding to evolving and emerging threats. \nCol Bogstie was commissioned in 1998 through the ROTC program at Auburn University. Her first assignment was a Minuteman III missile operator/ instructor/ flight chief at Minot Air Force Base\, North Dakota. She then moved to the Air Force Technical Applications Center at Patrick Air Force Base\, Florida as a Systems Engineer for the Nuclear Treaty Monitoring Directorate\, upgrading and installing 15 seismic stations spanning all seven continents. Afterwards\, she became the Chief of Payload Products\, Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) Wing at Los Angeles Air Force Base\, California delivering the critical SBIRS GEO-2 missile detection and warning payload for spacecraft integration. After attending Air Command and Staff College\, she was a Political Military Planner in the Western Hemisphere Directorate of J5\, The Joint Staff\, Pentagon\, and coordinating Defense Support of Civil Authorities and Pandemic Influenza/Infectious Disease policies with interagency partners. She followed that assignment as Chief\, Space Vehicle Engineering Branch at the National Reconnaissance Office where she led a 1\,500-member joint team for $4.3B+ SIGINT space vehicle development. She then became Materiel Leader for Space Operations with Space and Missile Systems Center’s (SMC) Advanced Systems and Development Directorate at Kirtland Air Force Base\, New Mexico and led the $152M RDT&E Support Complex\, operating $672M in DoD and NASA missions. While there\, she was dual-hatted as Program Manager for the $94M ORS-5 space situational awareness pathfinder program. Following that tour\, she became Chief of the SMC Commander’s Action Group\, where she then lead the SMC 2.0 effort–the largest re-organization in the Center’s 60 years. As SLD45 commander he is responsible for base infrastructure for more than 15\,000 military\, civilian\, contractors and dependents at Patrick Space Force Base\, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and Ascension Island. He leads the safe and secure processing and launching of U.S. Government and commercial satellites from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station\, Florida. As range director he is final approval authority for all launches\, landings and DOD testing to include Kennedy Space Center satellites and human crew on the Eastern Range\, a 15-million-square-mile area that supported 36 launches in 2021 with nearly double planned for 2022; aboard Falcon 9\, Falcon Heavy\, Atlas V\, Delta IV Heavy\, USN SLBMs\, and Astra while onboarding Vulcan\, Starship\, Blue Origin\, Relativity Terran I and others. DESCRIPTION:4TH Annual Women In Defense – Greater Los Angeles Chapter\nWHITE PARTY\nWomen In Defense\, Greater Los Angeles Chapter (WID-GLAC) third annual WHITE PARTY will be held on Sunday\, August 21\, 2016 in Long Beach\, CA. The event serves as a benefit to raise funds for HORIZONS Scholarships and to honor the achievements of several outstanding women within the Southern California Aerospace and Defense community with our chapter’s Service to the Flag Award. The event will be held at The Hotel Maya\, in Long Beach\, CA on August 21\, 2016 from 10am-1pm. It is a beautiful setting right on the water of the gorgeous Long Beach Marina. Guests are encouraged to wear White Attire or Service Dress. This is an excellent event to bring friends or family with you as the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable for all. Ample drinks\, plentiful food\, music and a spectacular view will be included.
